Robert L. "Moon" Wiggers, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, at the age of 80, at Parkside Healthcare Center in Columbiana, Ohio. Known for his love of the outdoors, his hardworking spirit, Moon's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on October 2, 1943, in Salem, Ohio, Moon was the son of the late Paul Sr. and Alice (Boyd) Wiggers. He was a proud graduate of Salem High School, and his strong work ethic was evident from an early age. Moon found joy in labor, and his career at Eljer's as an enameller for several years reflected his dedication and attention to detail.
He leaves behind his children, Andy Wiggers of Lisbon, and Danielle (Gary Jr.) Schuster of Rogers. Moon's love for his family extended beyond his children, and he leaves behind cherished memories with his stepson, Ron Dudley of Panama City, Florida; his granddaughters, Alayna and Adelia Schuster; and his brother, Paul Wiggers, Jr. of Cincinnati.
Moon's life was a testament to the fact that the true value of a man lies not in his possessions, but in the love, he gives and the lives he touches. His memory will be carried forward by the many people whose lives were enriched by his presence.
His life was filled with simple pleasures. His love for the mountains, his passion for farming and gardening, and his dedication to his family and friends. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

I remember Bob "Moon" from high school and more specifically the 1961 Salem Quaker football team. We were both four year veterans of that team. He was a great friend and a terror on the grid iron. His legacy as one fierce lineman on that team will endure for many years to come.
