Rose A. Lehmann, age 84, of Monroe, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023.
Born February 24, 1939, in Monroe, Rose was 1 of 12 children of Frank and Alfreda (Sheeley) Roof. She attended Bridge School and Dundee High School.
On September 15, 1956, Rose married Paul F. Lehmann in Monroe. They resided in the Shoreland Community of Toledo, OH from 1956 until moving to Monroe in 1968. In 1969, they opened their first store, Lehmann Pro Hardware in Maybee, MI. They sold that business in 1974 and soon opened Lehmann Ace Hardware in Monroe in 1975. Paul and Rose co-owned and operated that location until they sold the store and retired in 1998. They spent their winters at Sun-N-Fun Mobile Home Village in Fort Myers, FL for many years.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rose enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, friends, and frequent lunches at Larson's.
Rose is survived by her husband Paul; 6 children, Robert (Susan) Lehmann, Edward Lehmann, Connie Lehmann, Cathy (Ron) Nutt, Joseph (Lori) Lehmann, and John Lehmann; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley (Alex) Kocsis and Wilma Hill.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Robert, Rich, Clarence, George, and Frank Roof; 4 sisters, Mary Lou Borucki, Joann Bonkoski, Dorothy Liedel, and Thelma Smith.
Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and funeral arrangements.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Friday, June 16th at 11 a.m. The Lehmann family will welcome visitors prior to Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Michael Anagbogu and Deacon Mike Stewart will officiate.
For anyone wanting to make a memorial donation, the family suggests supporting The Muscular Dystrophy Association or United Cerebral Palsy.
