Shirley June Davies, 92, of Moberly, Missouri, was reunited with her husband, two children and other family when she went home to the Lord on April 9, 2024, at Mark Twain Assisted Living in Moberly, Missouri.

Shirley was born on June 11, 1931, in Moberly, Missouri, to Ernest and Carrie (Rains) Lowry.

She married Nicholas Davies on January 5, 1950, they were married for 57 years. Nick was in the Army so the two lived in Temple, Texas from 1952 until 1954. Nick was a lay preacher, and they spent a lot of time going to different churches. He ultimately became an ordained minister, and they settled in the Clark Baptist Church.

Shirley was very active in the First Baptist Church and the lady’s missionary group. She was a big prayer warrior for anyone in need, and a wonderful Christian witness to all who knew her.

Her family and friends will always remember her for her sweet smile, contagious laugh, positive and happy attitude. She really enjoyed playing bridge with all her girlfriends, and Shirley’s children will always remember her being their biggest cheerleader and supporter on the sidelines at any sporting event. Spending time with her family was the most important to her, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Davies; son, Thomas Davies; daughter, Lisa Hall; parents, Ernest and Carrie Lowry.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Diane (Pete) Tregnago of Moberly, MO; sister, Peggy Wilson of AZ; grandchildren, Adrienne (Alonso Jr.) Spiller of Moberly, MO, Amanda Davies of Kansas City, MO, Zachary Jefferson of Mexico, MO, Aaron (Loree) Jefferson of Macon, MO, Lindsey (Jaydin) Wellborn of Moberly, MO; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Patricia DeJonge; son-in-law, Thomas Hall; nephew, David Wilson of AZ; niece, Carol Wilson of AZ; great-nephew, Eric Wilson of AZ.

A visitation celebrating Shirley’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, followed by an interment at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
