Tricia Ann Campbell, born Tricia Louis on May 5, 1969, in
Boston, Massachusetts, was called home by the Lord on Monday May 6, 2024. Tricia was the youngest of thirteen children between Willie Clifton Baker and Ella Rhea Louis (Lucas). Tricia was a product of Boston Public Schools, attending numerous schools within the district before graduating from Boston Technical High School, now the John D O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, in 1987. Tricia took a non-traditional route in her secondary education, acquiring her associate's degree in business management from Aquinas Junior College in 1989, then completing her bachelor's degree in management/accounting from the University of Massachusetts - Boston in 2003. Vigilant in her studies, Tricia graduated from the University of Massachusetts with highest honors (magna cum laude). Her dedication to academic excellence is clearly visible within her children as all three have attended college on scholarship.
Tricia worked many years at Educational Development Center in
Newton, MA. She held titles including Administrative Assistant, Project Administrator, Finance Manager I and Finance Manager II. After leaving EDC, Tricia secured a position with ATLAS Communities as a Business Manager. Upon leaving ATLAS she acquired a position at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Financial Coordinator for the Chemical Engineering (CHEM-E) department where Tricia was part of a grant writing and processing team. As Tricia's illness began to surface and working full time became more difficult, she took on a part time position at Wegmans in Chestnut Hill, MA
In Tricia's earlier years all the way to her passing, she had a passion for music. She loved rap music as well as R&B. Her favorite artists are LL Cool J and the late Whitney Houston. Tricia's love for hip hop and rap music drove her to learn how to DJ using equipment like turntables, an equalizer and a microphone. Tricia even wrote lyrics and participated in local rap battles. The creative side of Tricia led to her love of scrapbooking. This craft allowed her to show her pride in her children's academic excellence and capture memorable moments with friends, family and co-workers. Tricia's interest in scrapbooking aligned perfectly with her personality traits of being a thinker, a planner, and methodical in everything she engaged in. Tricia enjoyed sports as well. While basketball was her favorite sport, she also enjoyed track and field, women's gymnastics and figure skating. She loved to tell stories of how she kept the official scorebook for the basketball team in high school and how she ran track as a youth. Tricia loved the holidays with Christmas being her absolute favorite. The holidays for Tricia were the perfect excuse to be with family and to help her friends however she could. Tricia cared for everyone that she came across, calling them her friends. Tricia could only see the good in people because that was genuinely her heart.
A proud daughter and baby sister, Tricia is predeceased by her parents Willie Clifton Baker and Ella Rhea Louis, her siblings Leon Henry Baker, Alphonso Baker, Dwayne Baker Sr, Melvin Louis, Lisa Louis Howell*, Aunt Sarah Lucas and stepmom Geraldine Crawford.
Lisa Louis Howell passed away May 8, 2024.
