Wallace M. Martin, Jr., lovingly known to his family and friends as "Gator," was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of so many. He was born on January 7, 1958 in Duval County, Jacksonville, FL to honorable veteran Wallace M. Martin, Sr. and school teacher Alice Manley. From a young age, it was evident that Wallace possessed a unique spirit, one filled with kindness, curiosity, and a relentless drive to make the world a better place.
Wallace grew up in a two-parent home where his mother, Alice, was a school teacher and his father, Wallace, Sr., a US Military Veteran and professional truck driver is where he developed a love for entrepreneurship. Wallace pursued his education in the Duval County where he excelled academically and received his certification as a welder/mechanic in trade school to excel in his profession.
During Wallace's life, he embarked on a journey that would define him. He loved music like no other and loved to travel! Wallace had a passion for making big moves, big money, and to always stay on top! He traveled to California, Arizona, Salt Lake City, Utah, and throughout the entire state of Florida. What do you expect from the son of a veteran/truck driver? Wallace was a man who had the drive, the discipline, and the structure to do great things impacting the lives of others.
Beyond his professional achievements, Wallace was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and great friend. He cherished moments spent with everyone individually and collectively creating memories that will last forever. Each one of us can honestly say overtime we have built a connection with him.
Wallace had a unique ability to bring joy to our hearts through his love for music, dancing, and dedication to lending a helping hand. His warmth and generosity will be greatly missed. As Wallace gained his wings to join his beloved wife, Joanne Martin, he leaves behind to cherish his memories his children: Wallace M. Martin, III, Anthony Martin, DeVera L. Martin, Alichia D. Martin, Marquette Campbell; grandchildren: Kylah Martin, Siaca Martin, Santana Martin, Sallace Martin, Jerod Icon, Jr., Keymara Campbell, Chakknno Melton, Kaniyah Melton; DeVera A. Martin (deceased), Maurice Martin, Alichia "Lisa" Martin, Michelle Manley; nephew: Alton Manley; niece: Shawnta Martin; and a host of cousins and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
