Wanda Benson Obituary
Wanda "Sue" Benson of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 77. She was born July 28, 1945, in Paris, Texas to Edgar and Thelma (Smith) Wilson. She married Gene Benson on April 4, 1966 in Lubbock. She worked as a beautician for many years and was a member of South Park Baptist Church for more than 35 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Gene; her only child, Shelley Larkins and her only granddaughter, Shelby Larkins, all of Lubbock; siblings, Bobby Nowell of Paris, Kenneth Wilson of Lubbock, David Wilson of Cleveland, Carole Braudrick of Lubbock, and Nancy Hokit of Broken Arrow.
Sue was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Nowell, Eddie Wilson and Jimmy Wilson and four sisters, Pat Goodwin, Louise Davis, Mary Judkins, and Betty Gean.
Private graveside services were held.
