Karen McNeely Cole

Karen McNeely Cole, born on April 7, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 5, 2025, in Crosbyton, Texas, at the age of 83. A devoted mother and friend, Karen will be remembered for her warmth, quick wit, and unwavering support for those she loved. Her family was her greatest joy. Her mischievous smile brightened the lives of many, and her love of family was a central pillar of her existence.Karen is preceded in death by her beloved husband John, who together weathered ups and downs, laughter and tears. She is also preceded by her mother, Cartha Currey, Father, Orland McNeely, and her brother, Murray McNeely. Karen is survived by her two daughters: Jaime Durrett (Rodney) and Dr. Jeanetta Cole (Kelly). The family cherishes the memories they created together and will carry her spirit in their hearts.Graveside services for Karen McNeely Cole will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the City of Lubbock Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her life and legacy.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lubbock Meal on Wheels, an organization that exemplifies Karen's spirit of giving and compassion for her community.She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate to be a part of her life.
