Clarence "Rod" Clayton Huenergardt age 88, passed peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. He was born November 27, 1936, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Erwin and Lida (Stuewe) Huenergardt. He married Sue Arnold on March 23, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas. He was the proud parent of one daughter, Nancy Huenergardt. He retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. He served in Abilene, Texas; Germany; Thailand; Turkey; Lubbock, Texas; and Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed as a service technician for 23 years with Cash Register Services, Inc., retiring in 2006. After hours, he enjoyed playing the pedal steel guitar with the Tiny Lynn Band since 1981.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church since moving to Lubbock in 1972, serving as a member of the spiritual board and a member of various boards and committees.
Service will be at Christ Lutheran Church, 7801 Indiana Ave., Lubbock, Texas; on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2pm, with the Revs. Daniel Hinton and Alan Korinek officiating. Visitation will be at the church at 1pm.
His parents, one sister Carmen Hobbie, and two brothers, Paul and Richard Huenergardt, all of Wichita, Kansas, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; his daughter, Nancy Huenergardt, of San Marcos, Texas; and brother George K. Huenergardt of Wichita, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank The Gardens at Shadow Hills, and Enhabit Hospice for their support and compassionate care.
Burial will be at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.

Aunt Sue and Nancy so sorry for your loss of Clarence. He was always a kind man. We thank him for his service to our country and also to you Aunt Sue and Nancy for you all served. May God bless you in this sad time our prayers are with you always.
