May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
I'm wondering if there are still plans for a service that former students and players can attend?

Coach Gentry was one of the greatest influences on my life. Over the years, as I would travel back to Albuquerque, I would stop into various Blake's Lotaburgers around town. The last time I saw him and his lovely bride, Mary, I was sitting in the Lotaburger at San Mateo and Ross when, to my incredible pleasure, they strolled in for a meal. We had a wonderful conversation and went our separate ways. It is a tribute to the man that so many of his ex-players kept up communication with him. I have been dreading the day when I would see this news. I am sad that it took so long to learn of this. I know that I have imparted much of his wisdom to my own family and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. He has an incredible legacy and will be truly missed but never unappreciated.

Bill came to HHS the year after me so taught and coached (some) as I was at HHS for 30+ years so I got to know Bill very well. I want to express my sympathy to Mary and the entire family.

Im so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of playing, teaching and coaching with Bill. I to have many many fond memories of not only Bill, but the entire Gentry Family. Mary, Coach
will be missed by thousands and for me, both you and Bill have had great influence on my younger life.
I wish the entire Gentry family all the best. What a great Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Coach you were fortunate to have in your lives.

Coach Gentry did as much off the field for me as on. He helped me when I needed it the most. I will always cherish his memory and thank him for his influence in my life. RIP. Terry Morgan HHS 73

Proud to have started for Coach Gentry on the 1963 State Champion Football Team. The 1st undefeated team in Highland High School history. He was also my P.E. teacher at Zia Elementary in the mid '50's. I'll look forward to being there when we celebrate your life. So Long Coach
