I never knew Gary but lived only a couple of blocks from him in Sunny Slope (Phx, AZ). The reason I knew him was because me and my 13 year old buddies would ride and race dirt bikes out at Beardsley race way near Dell Webb´s Sun City, North of Phoenix (about 1971 or 72). And we were in awe of this 13-14 year kid (one of us), winning every race he entered against 30 year old pros (he road a Montesa 250 at the time). We loved Gary. When he started jumping I was there for his first jump, when their family friend, actor,, Keenan Wynn was introducing him. Always thought one day, I might meet Gary, was shocked to learn that he had died almost 3 years ago. RIP Gary! You´ll be missed!
