James Therrell Obituary

James Hamilton Therrell, IV, 40, of Fort Lupton, Colorado passed away July 17, 2015, in Boulder County. Born in Atlanta, Georgia on July, 24, 1974, he was the son of Jimmy and Susan Therrell of Roswell, Georgia. James was a 1997 graduate of Georgia Southern University where he also spent a semester studying abroad in Estonia. In June of 2000 he moved to Denver, Colorado to obtain a law degree from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law. Graduating in 2003 was just the beginning of his successful career. In 2004 he married Jessica Lorraine Hillis of Riverdale, Georgia. James became a licensed attorney in 7 states including The United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and Vice President of Legal Affairs for Wakefield & Assoc. He loved the language of law and it showed in his success in the courtroom. He is survived by his sister, Lorraine Therrell Lancaster (Mike) and nephew, David O'Connor Lancaster of Rome, Georgia. Other survivors include aunts and an uncle in Atlanta, Georgia, a great aunt in Jacksonville, Florida, and cousins in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy and Susan Therrell. A service will be held at a later date for family and friends. James was accomplished, intelligent, successful and a dynamic person. Anyone that met him was in awe of his energy and passion. He lived too short a life and saying goodbye has been difficult. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

I have always enjoyed working with Mr. Therrell. He was always amazing to court staff and parties when attending in Adams County Court. He will be sorely missed.

James you were the highlight of our day at work, you knew how to make us all smile, you had nicknames for most of us, you noticed if we wore something new or had a new hair style or even if we had a new picture on our desk. I miss talking to you about our dogs. I hope you have a chance to brighten Heaven, till we see you again. All our Love to you. Judy and Doug Paul Ft Morgan, Co

James, you are truly missed around here. I miss hearing your booming voice coming through the doors and the way you always made us laugh and smile with your random "words of wisdom". You have touched many lives and had such a good heart. May you rest in peace and know that you will never be forgotten.

I will miss you James! I remember meeting you 2 years ago in Colorado through a mutual friend. We started talking about baseball, particularly the Braves and Pirates long fought battles in the playoffs. With that we became instant friends. I was glad that we traded baseball memorabilia with each other once or twice a year, that kept us in touch. Thanks for inviting me out for New Year's Eve in 2013. That was such a great time, I'll never forget. Every time we had a chance to hang out, you always went out of your way to make sure I was taking care of. Your Spirit will always be with me James, thanks for making me a better person. I'll see you some time in the future. Your Friend, Mark J. Lawrence from Pittsburgh, PA
