HENRY - Karla Rae (Nickells) Carr, 47, of Henry passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 16, 2018.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, 513 Carroll St., Henry. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the memorial home, with an hour prior visitation. The Rev. Tom Schrock will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. A celebration of life will be held at Shandy's Pub following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Karla was born on January 21, 1971, in Princeton, IL, to Norman Reece and Helen J. (Hutchinson) Nickells Cutter. She married Shawn Patrick Carr on November 30, 1998, in Lacon, IL. He survives in Henry.
Surviving are one daughter, Taylor Rae (Ian) Forhan, of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Nicholas Gage Carr of Peoria; granddaughter, Paisley Rae Forhan, of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Jameson Patrick Carr of Peoria; granddaughter, Avery Jane Carr of Peoria; her siblings, Chet (Joette) Nickells of Jensen Beach, FL, Erin McCauley of Princeton, Don Nickells of Concord, CA, Debbie Drummond of Peru, Sally Reuter of Princeton, Vicki (Toby) Sanden of Manlius, Chris Nickells of Princeton, Shane (Cindy) Carr of Henry and Misty (Neil) Kelly of Mathews, North Carolina; her in-laws, Larry (Kathy) Carr of Magnolia; and her nieces and nephews, Jason McCauley, Blake, Bryanna, Brittney and Dakota Nickells, Cora Margis, Kyle Stokuis, Nathan Nickells, Chad and Ashley Reuter, Adam and Kimberly Sanden, Taylor and Christian Carr, Tara Probyn, Holdyn Carr, Dalton and Logan Kelly, Taryn Steele, Samantha Anske, Ian Steele and Stanton Lewis.
Her parents, Helen Nickells Cutter and Norman Nickells; step-father, Ed Cutter; mother–in-law, Sue Ellen Carr; and one brother, Daniel Nickells, preceded her in death.
Karla was a graduate of the LP High School, Class of 1990. She was employed at Shandy's Pub in Henry.
Karla loved her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends, Harley rides, going to the Lake of the Ozarks, NASCAR, demo derbies, music and her dog, Ryder.
Karla was a sweet, kind, fun loving person. She was a pleasure to be around. She was witty and sweet and loved to have a good time and tell funny jokes. Karla was caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and a good friend to whomever had the chance to be around her. Karla had a dynamite personality, the type you will hardly ever have a chance to see in a person again. We will miss this special woman that has touched our lives in so many ways. God has taken her away too soon. We will miss our "Sweet Little Angel."
