Ray J. McNeil, (Colonel, USAF, Retired), age 83, of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, April 27, 2007. He was a longtime member of Baring Cross Baptist Church where he was honored to serve as a Deacon. He was a veteran of World War II and The Korean War. While serving as a fighter pilot, he was awarded numerous commendations including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Harvey and Stella (Hampton) McNeil of Walnut Ridge, and two sisters, Marie Sharp and Addie Corpier Allen. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of sixty years, Phyllis Genyce (Moore), two daughters, Sherry Ann McNeil of Virginia, and Janis Kay Stansell and her husband, Roy, of Pangburn, and son, William Thomas McNeil and his wife, Amy, of North Little Rock, two granddaughters, Geny Bruce and her husband, Guy, of Beebe, and Katy Smith and her husband, Luke, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, four great-grandchildren, Seth, Olivia, Sylvia, and Guy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday April 30, 2007, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at 10:00 am at Baring Cross Baptist Church , 7541 Warden Road, Sherwood, with Dr. Marty Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Memorial may be made to Baring Cross Baptist Church Building Fund, 7541 Warden Road, Sherwood, Arkansas 72120
