Frank Thomas Stasi, 62, passed away quietly at home on June 21st, after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was surrounded during his last hours by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 12 o’clock noon at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 West 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 83rd and Quivira in Lenexa, Kansas. Friends may visit at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Children's Mercy Hospital, Resource Development, 2401 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th, Shawnee, KS 66216, or The American Cancer Society, 6700 Antioch Rd., Suite 100, Merriam, KS 66204. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was always proud of his country and service. He was also dedicated to his work with the John A. Marshall Company where he enjoyed a 30-year career serving as the Company's President and Chairman until his death. Frank was an avid golfer and long-time member of Hillcrest Country Club prior to its decline, having served as its President during 2001. At Hillcrest, he was co-founder of the "Dog Pack" - a fun loving group of degenerate gamblers who formed life-long friendships with one another despite their regular arguments. Frank was affectionately referred to as "The Dog Father" and was always in control of the group. Most importantly, Frank was dedicated to Beckie, his wife of 35 years and his family. In addition to Beckie, Frank is survived by his children, Kristina Wagner (Paul), and his son John Vrooman who will miss him dearly. "Po Po" will also be greatly missed by his beloved grand-daughters, Kaitlin, Molly, and Abbie Wagner to whom he was dedicated and loved with all his heart. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Frank Stasi, and his brothers, Pat and Mark Stasi.
