Shirley Woodruff Obituary

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17th at Lane Family Funeral Homes, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown for Shirley A. Woodruff, 79 of Youngstown who died early Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown. Shirley was born July 1, 1936 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Victor and Stella Battisti Fortunato and was a lifelong area resident. She had worked for Austintown School in various capacities for 12 years, retiring in 2003. She had also worked as a secretary for Woodruff Carburetors for many years. Family and friends were very important to Shirley. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her Rayen High School classmates. She leaves her husband, Carleton E. Woodruff, Jr. whom she married May 2, 1953, just celebrating 63 years together; one daughter, Kathy (Ron) Krupa of Galena, OH; three sons, Dean (Gloria) Woodruff of Marietta, CA, Craig (Debbie) Woodruff of Austintown, Randy (Teri) Woodruff of Powell, OH and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Carleton Woodruff, III and a brother, Paul Fortunato. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

We are so sorry to hear about Shirley's death, she was loved by so many and will be missed by all. Our prayers will be with her soul that she might find eternal rest in the Kingdom of God. Previous commitments prevent me from attending the services on Tuesday, but my heart and my prayers will be with you all.
