I met Phil as my boss in the early 80's when he was one of the key executives starting the new Morgan Delaware Bank. He was a very wise and knowledgeable banker, a kind and caring mentor, and a great human being. I learned not only good banking practices from him but also great lessons in kindness, patience, and humility. He helped all of us youngsters how to become good bankers and good people. Phil was an extraordinary person and I feel privileged and fortunate to have met him.

My deepest condolences to his family, the love and light of his life. He will be very much missed.
