Kathryn L DeVitis of Cleveland went to be with our Lord on June 26, 2017. She was born April 13, 1920 in Kaylor, PA to Wayne and Rebecca (Ingles) Carroll. She graduated from Carnes City HS and West Penn Hospital School of Nursing and was a delivery room nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland. She married the late James S DeVitis on Oct 3rd, 1942 and they were happily married for 63 years. Kathryn is survived by her daughters Carolyn L DeVitis Goebel and Diana L Shellenberger, 4 grandchildren, Ben Davis, Michael Goebel, Scott Shellenberger and Andrea Lohrber and 9 great grandchildren, Josalynn, Jason, Rowen, Xavier, Levi, Zoey, Kathryn, Anelise and Dexter. She lived a very active life with her husband and children with PTA, Girl Scouts, Rainbow Girls, band and orchestra. She was actively involved with Pearl Road United Methodist Church serving as chairman of the board and UMW president numerous times as well as district and conference officer of the UMW. Kathryn was also a district officer of the Girl Scouts. Kathryn was an active member of Elbrook Chapter 408 of the Eastern Stars joining in 1962. She served as Worthy Matron in 1978 and 1991 and was Grand Chaplin of the State of Ohio in 1982. She was also involved in the Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping and traveling. Kathryn had numerous wonderful friends throughout her lifetime and wanted once more to send her love and thanks to those wonderful relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Pearl Road United Methodist Church, 4200 Pearl Rd., Cleveland OH 44109 or the Scottish Rite Learning Center 3615 Euclid Ave., Cleveland OH 44115. The family will receive friends from 1-5pm Sunday July 2, 2017 at BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 RIDGE RD., PARMA. Funeral Services will be Monday at 11am at Pearl Road United Methodist Church, 4200 Pearl Rd., Cleveland. Interment will follow in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery. (440)842-7800
