She attended Delhaas High School in Bristol, PA and graduated in 1955. She had met Ed at the roller rink while in high school and married him on July 16, 1955. Her most important role as Mother began in April 1956. She was an exceptional homemaker, loving wife and mother to her husband and nine children. No words can express the love she had for her twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was never lacking visits from them and joked that she should have had a revolving front door. She loved her rare one on one visits with them as they usually came in droves. She could not of been more proud of their talents and achievements. Her love of crocheting showed in her talented granddaughters who she patiently taught. Miriam did the bookkeeping for her husbands roofing and siding business for many years. After the passing of her husband in 1987 she began her career as a government secretary for the Naval Aviation Supply Office. She retired after ten years of employment. In her spare time, little that she had, she volunteered as the treasurer of the Home and School Association for Thomas Holme Elementary School. You could always find her fundraising by clipping the box tops for her grandsons entire school. For years she spent hours making thousands of bows for the Torresdale Boys Club Cheerleaders and helping at their pep shows. Numerous days and nights were spent reading entire college books to tape and typing reports for her blind nephew. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and camping. She especially enjoyed her annual Labor Day weekend Philly Hillbilly Cook-Off with as many as 85 extended family and friends. There was always homemade soup on the stove and her potato salad was requested at every family event. She looked forward nightly to challenging her youngest son John in a game of TV Jeopardy. Cherished and treasured forever in our hearts she will be remembered. Relatives and Friends are invited to Miriam's Life Celebration Thursday Eve at 7:30PM to 9:30PM and again Friday Morning 9:15AM to 10:15AM at the John F.
