Bill and I have been great friends for more than 15 years. We met on the Ocean Village Club boardwalk in St. Augustine and continued to meet there most days every week every winter year after year. And these daily get-togethers always brought new laughs and fostered a relationship which I value so much. People thought we were solving the world's problems there, but no chance! We were just enjoying and extending our friendship. When Bill told me that he could no longer make the trip south, I knew things on the boardwalk would never be the same again. The "Mayor" would not be there, and no one could or would take his place. I miss you, Bill, and I send my sympathy and prayers for healing to Joan and the rest of your family.

I had the privilege of meeting Bill "The Mayor" in 2011. He was always friendly, welcoming, had a huge smile for everyone. He spoke of his family with such pride and admiration! It always astounded me that he was so well versed in so many areas -- we would visit and chat about topic after topic -- his knowledge and experiences were so vast. He will be remembered with great admiration.
Joan and family- May God give you comfort.

Bill was a big guy with a big heart. He was Captain of the Boardwalk Buccaneers in St. Augustine. He loved spending a few hours every day greeting everyone who went to the beach.

Every person and every dog was Bill's friend. He had a large crew of people that just enjoyed spending time with him and listening to his stories.

There are a few who knew him for many years, and he was an important part of their life. The thought of Bill not being here is difficult, but we all know he will always be the Captain at our side. We will miss him.
