Raymond Foster Obituary

Published by Cavanagh Family Funeral Home -Norwood on Dec. 13, 2020.
Raymond Edward Foster, 68, of Springfield, died December 13, 2020. Ray was born September 14, 1952 and grew up in Southwest Philadelphia. His lifelong love of going "down the shore" started with his childhood summers spent there in the house that his father built. This love was passed down to his own family and continues to this day. Ray worked for the Xerox Corporation for 29 years and was the youngest technician when hired. He had a great sense of humor and could never pass up a good zinger. He had a myriad of talents, could fix anything, and would help anyone in need. His family often teased him for his various "honorary" degrees. He was loved by many, a "second dad" to several, and had a few names which included Papa Dukes and Pop. Ray is survived by his wife Carol, his daughter Lori, his son David, his daughter-in-law Megan, his grandchildren Keegan and Quinn, his sister and brother-in-law Jeanne and Bob Koncir, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joann and Jim Edwards and family, his niece JoAnne Nicosia, his lifelong friends Gene and Debbie Baum, and many other family and friends. Ray is predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary, and his sister Mary Lou. He will truly be missed. The family plans to celebrate Ray's life next spring or summer with a Memorial Service. Information will be sent out at a later date. If you wish, please make a donation in Ray's honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org and/ or The Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org

Ray, I will surely miss your impromptu stops whether on your bike or your skooter I was always glad to have your company if only for a quick hello. I looked forward to seeing you a couple of times during the summer months. The Villas will miss your presence.
Though we didn't see much of each other in a ur younger days, these past 20 years have reunited that part of the family.
