John J. Dioguardi

Dioguardi 1941~2021 John Joseph Dioguardi passed away on January 25, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born in Cacamo, Palermo, Italy, and came to the United States at the age of 12 settling in Philadelphia. John raised his family in Delaware County starting out in Overbrook Park, then a stretch in Havertown and finally a stop in West Chester. He was the devoted father of Sandra, Loredana and Adriana and beloved husband of Mimi Dioguardi. John's talents ranged from soccer player to pizza shop owner to master craftsman and furniture maker. He touched so many throughout his 6 decades in this country and his impeccable workmanship, movie star good looks and beautiful head of hair left a lasting impression on those he came in contact. John loved tending to his garden (his beloved fig trees), watching his cowboy movies and especially eating Mimi's world class home cooked Italian meals. In addition, he loved his time crabbing with his grandchildren and could always be seen wearing his signature flannel shirts! John was predeceased by his loving parents Sebastiano and Concetta (nee Faso) Dioguardi and his brothers Angelo and Joseph and sister Maria Aglialoro (Dioguardi). Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Mimi (nee Caruana) Dioguardi; his children Sandra Scarpone (Nicholas), Loredana Pratzner (Matthew) and Adriana Hagenberg (Robert): his 7 grandchildren Nicholas, Francesca and Gabriel Scarpone, Alexander and Jake Pratzner, Justin and Ryan Hagenberg; his brothers Salvatore and Pasquale Dioguardi and sisters Theresa Giuliano and Josephine Dioguardi. All Relatives are invited to his Private Viewing on Saturday, January 30th, from 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM, with a Private Funeral Mass to follow 10:30 AM at St. Dorothy's Church, 4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be live-streamed promptly at 10:30 AM.
