Ruth A. Catagnus

Ruth A. Catagnus of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 17, 2021. We were blessed to have her for 97 years. Born November 11, 1923 in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Isaac E. and Fannie (nee George) Kirkner, and the beloved wife of the late Benjamin A. Catagnus. Ruth was a very spiritual woman and passionate about volunteering, ensuring she knew everyone by name. She volunteered at the Calvary Baptist Church soup kitchen and was a Senior Helper. She enjoyed bowling, reading, and writing cards and letters to her family and friends, never forgetting special occasions. Ruth loved her family above everything else and cherished the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her four children; Virginia DiRado (Anthony), Charlene Cavello (Dominick), Nancy Donnelly (Thomas) and Earl "Buddy" Catagnus (Rosemarie Cappolina), Step-son Timothy Woodward (Maureen), 15 grandchildren: Angela (Joe) Maria (Matthew), Antoinette (Raymond), Christine (George), Dominick (Breta), Keith, Thomas III (Jennifer), Stephen (Meagan), Kimberly (Patrick), Christopher (Jessica), Earl, Jr., (Rebecca), Dawn, Stacy, Dana, and Joey, as well as 26 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her brother Richard. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Ruth's Life Celebration on Sunday March 21, from 6 to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Ruth's funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's name can be made to Calvary Baptist Church Welcome 801 W.
