David Richard Beatty

David R. Beatty, 81, passed away after a brief illness on May 10, 2015. He lived in Zionsville, Indiana, and was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dora Beatty, his brother Robert and sister, Rose Porter. He is survived by his brother, Carl, and wife, Lois Beatty; son, Steven Beatty; daughter, Susan Le Vay, and her husband, Dan Le Vay; son, John Beatty, and wife, Annette; and grandchildren: James and Jonathan Le Vay, Jordan, Cory and Jamie Beatty. Born December 2, 1933, Dave grew up in Clinton, Indiana. He served in the US Army and earned a BS and MS in Business and Economics at Indiana State University. Dave worked for Standard Oil and GTE, where he was named Secretary-Treasurer. During his career with GTE, Dave lived in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. Dave was an avid golfer, loved to read, enjoyed jazz music, and had many friends and family, with whom he was always generous in a time of need. A memorial service honoring Dave will be held at Broadway United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, May 30th, at 3:00 p.m.
