John Rowan Obituary

Published by Eastgate Funeral Home - Garland on Apr. 28, 2021.
John Carlton Rowan of Plano, TX, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 28, 2021, at the age of 56. John was born on December 11, 1964 in Dallas to John W. and Gwen Rowan. After attending Richardson Pearce High School, he became a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1987. He then received his law degree from the University of Houston. John was passionate about Aggie football and his 2 new Corgi puppies. He was an avid reader and history buff, who loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. John had a host of close friends and colleagues whom he cared about deeply. He was a kind and generous soul, who loved helping others. John had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and it was hard to find a subject he was not interested in. He especially adored his great-nieces and nephews, and took such pleasure in watching their smiles when they received special gifts from "Great John." He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister Kimberly Mercer, niece Misty Anguiano (Raphael), nephews Matt Mercer (Brie) and Drew Mercer (Becca), and their children, and step-mother Lynda Rowan. Funeral service will be at Eastgate Funeral Home at xxx with burial to follow at Restland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The 12th Man Foundation. We always think we will have tomorrow - please tell those you care about how much you love them toda

I was friends with John during our A&M days, back in the 80s. He was a great guy!
