Carol Duvall was the host of “The Carol Duvall Show,” a popular arts and crafts show that ran on HGTV and the DIY Network.

Carol Duvall’s legacy

Duvall began sharing arts and crafts in the early days of television, starting in 1951 when she presented crafting ideas on a children’s TV show in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She moved on to hosting her own local show, “Here’s Carol Duvall,” before joining ABC’s “Home Show” when it debuted in 1988.

“The Carol Duvall Show” debuted on HGTV in 1994, shortly after “Home Show” came to an end. The daily show featured tutorials for such crafts as origami, jewelry making, polymer clay, and more. After “The Carol Duvall Show” was cancelled by HGTV in 2005, it was picked up by the DIY Network, where it ran until 2009. Duvall also wrote crafting books, including “Wanna Make Something Out of It?” and “Paper Crafting with Carol Duvall.”
