Climate expert 

Houghton was an important figure in climate science, winning a Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 as part of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an award shared with Al Gore. He persuaded many politicians to take a closer look at the damage caused by climate change.
