Paul Harrell (1966–2024), firearms educator and YouTuber

Paul Harrell was a U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran who garnered a strong following on YouTube as a firearms educator and gun rights activist. 

Paul Harrell’s legacy 

Before Paul Harrell became a popular creator on “GunTube,” a nickname for YouTube video content exploring firearms and gun rights, he served in both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps. In 2012, he launched his eponymous YouTube channel, with a focus on providing information about guns, gun rights, firearm safety and responsible firearm usage. 

Harrell soon drew a large audience, eventually surpassing 1 million subscribers. 

In July 2023, he announced that he had been diagnosed with Stage 2 pancreatic cancer. By January 2024, he had turned control of his channel over to his brother, Roy. His final appearance was in a video recorded in July 2024.
