Acting career

Adams had a recurring role on the later seasons of “Homicide: Life on the Street” as Officer Jeff Westby. He returned to the role for the 2000 TV movie, “Homicide: The Movie.” While he was still appearing on “Homicide,” Adams landed the role for which he’s now best known, playing inmate Zahir Arif on HBO’s popular prison drama “Oz.” He also appeared in the 2002 movie “Empire.”
