Joe Ruby and Ken Spearsacreated the animated television series Scooby-Doo,aWhereaare You!ain 1969, while working forathealegendary cartoon studio Hanna-Barbera.aThe duo also created the characters Dynomutt andaDog Wonder at Hanna-Barbera. In the 1970s, the pairawere hired by CBS to oversee the network's Saturday morning cartoon line-up. Ruby and Spears then moved to the same position at ABC.aThey later started Ruby-Spears Productions, producing Alvin and the Chipmunks and Fangface.
