Mike Curtis was a former star linebacker for the Baltimore Colts who had a key interception in their Super Bowl V win over Dallas.

“Mad Dog” on the field

Curtis was known as one of the toughest players of his era, earning him the nickname “Mad Dog.” He was a four-time pro bowl selection and his late interception in Super Bowl V allowed the Colts to hit a game winning field goal with less than a minute in the game to defeat the Dallas Cowboys. He played 11 seasons for the Colts, followed by 2 with Seattle, finishing up his last season with Washington. In a famous moment during a game against the Dolphins in 1971, Curtis tackled a drunk fan who ran onto the field in the middle of the game and stole the football.
