Groomagraduated from the University of Alabama and served a tour of duty during the Vietnam War.aHe wrote and published a few books prior to ‘Forrest Gump,aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasome based on his experiences in Vietnam.
