Steven Hugh Harrison

Steven Hugh Harrison, 55, of Albuquerque, passed away at UNMH on March 29, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

Steven was born in Albany, Oregon in 1963 to James and Leslee (Perse) Harrison. Steven was loved dearly by those who knew him. He enjoyed basketball, football, and reading. He had a wonderful sense of humor. His brother's children fondly recall two of his favorite sayings: "No belly is ever pink enough." and, "Uncle Steven is King!"

Steven was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Anna Perse; his mother, Leslee Harrison; and his brother, Robert Harrison. He is survived by his wife, Hope (Duryea) Harrison; son, James (Octavia) Harrison; daughter, Tatianna Harrison; granddaughter, Azalea Harrison; his father, James Harrison; his brother, Michael (Elizabeth); many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the MICU at UNMH for the excellent care they provided Steven.

Even though it is now 2021, this still affects me and makes me sad. I remember Hungry from grade school like it was yesterday.

Hungry what a great person, so many of my childhood memories are around all the crazy fun we had together. For many years we celebrated our birthdays together. Years have come and gone but the world is a much sadder place without you my friend and I am a better person for having the pleasure of being able to call you my friend. RIP

I have known Hungry (Steve) since grade school and knew him to have a thundering laugh and an enormous sense of humor.

We grew up near each other and went to the same schools for most of time until later in high school.

He was unique in the world and will be missed by all whose lives he touched. I pray for peace and comfort during this sad time of loss for friends and family.

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)
