Rocco DeFrancesco Obituary
ROCCO V. DEFRANCESCO
WHITING
Rocco V. DeFrancesco of Whiting passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born and raised in Elizabeth, he lived in Roselle Park before moving to Whiting in 2003. He worked as an ink technician for many years before his retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Bunker Hill as a radio controlman and he received The Silver Star and Bronze Star along with many other ribbons of valor. He was a devoted family man and caregiver to his loving wife Margaret. He was an avid sports enthusiast, which included bowling and watching NY Yankee games with his wife and grandsons up until his passing. He was a member of the Union County Bowling Hall of Fame and a three-time Bowler of the Year. He enjoyed cooking for his grandchildren. He was the greatest "Pop-Pop" ever.
He was predeceased by a son, William and nine siblings. Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret; a daughter, Patricia Caudo and her husband Thomas of Whiting; a daughter-in-law, Maria DeFrancesco of Linden and a sister, Anna DeGregorio of Jackson. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Nadine, Roxanne, Cheryl, Rocco, Thomas, William and five great grandchildren, Julia, Gabrielle, Spencer, Brielle and Devin.
Visitation will be today Sunday August 29th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Monday 9-9:30AM at Carmona-Bolen Home For Funerals, 66 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ 08759. A funeral mass will be held Monday August 30th at 10AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church in Whiting. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. To The entire DeFrancesco/Caudo Families,
So sorry to read of Mr. Defrancesco's passing. My deepest sympathy to you all. It's been a while since I saw him at Jersey Lanes while I was coaching on Saturday morning. I remember him always there cheering his grandsons on.
