Geraldine Freirich Posner, of Hollywood, FL, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the beautiful age of 90, in the comfort of loved ones. She attended Asbury Park High School and proudly served in the Navy Waves from 1943 to 1946 during Word War II. After fulfilling her time as a public relations photographer in Washington, DC, her accomplishments in photography include serving at Anacosta Naval Air Station, at Photo Science Laboratories, working for the U.S. Signal Corps in Fort Monmouth, NJ and opening a photography studio in Pine Hill, NY.

Geraldine used her big heart to volunteer with numerous charities throughout her life and stayed active in many organizations including Gold Coast Women's Veterans Organization. Gerry, as her friends and family called her, always had a positive outlook on life. If there was a mountain standing before her, she used her spirit and assertive determination to go around, over or through the mountain to the other side. She always enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending one of her last days having cocktails on the beach, enjoying the sunset with her girlfriends.

She was predeceased by her siblings, as well as her son, Robert Posner Sr. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Robert DeCosta; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Blaire; and her beloved grandchildren, Paige Richardson, Robert and Cristine Posner, and Raymond DeCosta. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Glenn and Gail Freirich, John and Liz Jakubiak, Jodi and Steve Waite, and Mark Jakubiak.
