Darryl GUTTERY Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
GUTTERY, Darryl Darryl Boyd Guttery died peacefully July 18, 2013. He had gallantly fought brain cancer for the past two years. Darryl is survived by wife of 28 years Jane Bryant Guttery, adult children Martha "Mattie" Elyse Guttery and Boyd Thomas Guttery, and his father Boyd Morrison Guttery of Saint Augustine, Florida. Darryl was pre-deceased by his mother Sadie Smith Guttery. Darryl was born March 1, 1962, in Ridgewood, NJ, and earned his Eagle Scout rank before graduating from Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, GA. Darryl received a B.S. in Engineering from Vanderbilt University where he met his wife Jane. Darryl was employed by Wells Fargo Bank. Alpharetta Presbyterian Church was the church home for Darryl, where he and his family were early members before a move to Saint Augustine, Florida. Darryl is survived by family members, Sisters Cynthia Kravitch of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Laura Guttery of Palm Harbor, FL, Dr. Sarah Guttery and husband John Garrett of Titusville, FL, Brother Steve Guttery and wife Michelle of Atlanta, GA, his wife's parents Bill and Martha Bryant, sister-in-law Sally English, her husband Tim, brother-in-law Brad Bryant, his wife Kay, along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday July 21, 4:00 PM at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. To Jane, Mattie and Boyd, saddened to hear of Darryls passing. I just heard the news today. I have such fond memories of Darryl in college. He was a wonderful person then, so I can only imagine the type of person he was later. Hope all of you are well.
