David Proffitt, age 52 owner of Windjammer Express entered into rest on Sunday, September 21, 2003 after a brief battle with cancer. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Barbara Proffitt, his daughter Shelley Bucho, sons Shane and Shawn Proffitt, son-in- law, Robert Bucho, daughter-in-law Autumn Proffitt, grand-daughter Ashlynn So, grandsons Keagan Proffitt, Rylan Proffitt and Kyle Kelman, his surrogate son Joseph Fields, his sister Darlene Couillard, and uncle Chuck Jordan. Dave proudly owned and operated Windjammer Express for six years, he worked for several companies before opening his own business. He was greatly respected by his friends and colleagues. Dave was a friend and brother to everyone. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. "Keep on truckin, Dad." Visitation will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Friday, September 26, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave. Funeral service to be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2003 also at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made in Dave's name to Barrows Neurological Institute for Brain Tumor Research.
