Robert Colclough Obituary

Robert Milton Colclough passed away peacefully at home in the arms
of his wife and daughter on April 22, 2007, his 61st birthday, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born to Arnold and Ann Colclough in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 22, 1946. He attended Kenilworth Grade School and West High School before serving in the United States Army. At his Kenilworth Reunion he was voted person who had changed the least. When his name was called to accept the award and he could not be found, it was announced that he was out on the playground. He earned a B.S. Degree from ASU in 1972 and a Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 1976. At heart, however, he was an artist and brilliant stand up comedian. He turned political incorrectness into a true art form. Bob was the first to admit that he could be an irritant and a trouble maker and was not without faults, but those who knew him best loved him best. Although some knew him as "T-Bone", most knew him as "No Job Bob", a name which he famously embraced. He lamented upon acquiring the family business, Arnold's Truck and Bodyworks, after his father's death, that he was the only guy he knew who inherited a job. He was a life long golfer and sportsman and always kept everyone busy working on his antique vehicle collection and homes in Phoenix and Prescott. No father ever loved a daughter more or was more proud than Bob was of his daughter, Audrey. They shared many adventures, including an African Safari, and many "Don't tell Mom" incidents. Audrey is truly her father's daughter in every positive sense. Thank you to all of his friends who never forgot how much Bob meant to them. Your visits and phone calls were a great joy for him. A special thank you to those who helped organize and attended the Wake Bob hosted for himself in February. That was a party. No other services are planned. A special thank you also to Hospice of the Valley for making life so easy the last few months. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter, Audrey Colclough, brother, James, and nephews. Bob recently expressed his faith in God and said that he believed he had done more good than bad in his life. We agree and believe that God wrapped Bobby in his arms once we unwrapped him from ours. He was without question the life of our party and his absence will be felt every day in a million ways. We love you Bobby.

My wife, Patty, and I both attended Kenilworth and West High with Bobby. Whomever wrote his obituary showed their love and captured him right on. From the first time I met him at Kenilworth I knew that he would always show you the real Bobby, a guy that was delightful to be around, self-deprecating and honest. Bobby and I used to play golf together when we were in high school and I would see him at reunions, he always was lovable and entertaining. As I think of him now, I am smiling. I know he would like that. I never knew anybody that got so much enjoyment out of making you laugh. Patty and I felt great sorrow at Bobby's passing but his smile and sense of humor will always be in our hearts and minds. Our sympathy to his family. We were lucky to have him.
