Robert Eckhoff Obituary

Robert "Bob" Bertram Eckhoff, age 74 of Woodbine, passed away from COVID-19, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia. Born February 15, 1947 in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Ernest and Martha Eckhoff. He was the husband of Roberta "Bobbie" T. Eckhoff of Woodbine.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was self-employed and his company previously managed various recreational facilities which included ice rinks in Howard County, MD, Washington, D.C. and Flint, Michigan. Bob was a past president of the Rotary Club of Columbia and a member for approximately 20 years.

Those who knew Bob recognized very quickly that he was a man of many talents and had a heart of gold. He was truly a jack of all trades. He would always stop whatever he was doing to help others in any way he could.

His interests included frequent trips to his cabin in West Virginia, hunting and other outdoor activities with family members and close friends, family cookouts with the grandkids, and various holiday celebrations with his children and their families.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are son Brian Eckhoff and his wife Kristina, daughter Jennifer Kullgren and her husband Jonathan, and grandchildren Hailey, Alyssa, and Andrew "Buddy" Eckhoff, and Dana and Leaf Kullgren. He was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Meyer.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Worked with Bob while at Columbia Association and considered him a friend. Sorry to hear of his passing but I know he enjoyed his life, work, and friends. I'll always remember him - he taught me so much.

So sorry to hear about Bob! We knew Bob for many years, he would bring his trucks in regularly for oil changes and services. He was always cheery and had a good sense of humor. We will definitely miss him coming in as a customer and friend!
