Jarvin Loney Obituary

Jarvin Loney went home peacefully to his Heavenly Father, on March 8, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham, Washington. He was born in Ferndale, Washington, on June 3, 1929. He graduated from Ferndale High School in 1947 and lettered in four different sports as well as participating in student government. He and his classmates, his life-long friends, continued to meet for reunions for over 60 years. In 1954, he married the love of his life, Eileen. They resided in Bellingham. Jarvin worked for Georgia Pacific in Bellingham for 40 years, many of those as an operator in the Chlorine Plant. Over 45 years ago, Jarvin was instrumental in forming the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Union (AWPPW), for the workers of the major west coast pulp and paper mills, including the Georgia Pacific and Weyerhaeuser plants. Jarvin was devoted to his fellow workers and served with dedication for the Local 194 of the AWPPW and on the pension committee from its inception until his retirement in 1992. Jarvin loved to fish, and participate in the Georgia Pacific fishing derby. He was passionate about his yard, creating beautiful flowerbeds and had a special love for all the wild animals he welcomed there, including deer, squirrels and the abundance of birds for which he built creative and elaborate birdhouses and feeders. Extremely devoted to his family, Jarvin was preceded in death by his parents and 2 young brothers. He is survived by Eileen (Demuth) Loney, his wife of 58 years, daughter Rosemary TerWisscha (Richard), brother Ted Loney (Shirley), grandchildren Amy Letinsky (Daniel Letinsky, MD) and Ellen TerWisscha , great-grand daughter Elizabeth Letinsky, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be on Friday, March 15th at 12:30 PM at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale. Following the graveside service will be a celebration of Jarvin's life at 2:00 PM at Moles Farewell Tributes, Lakeway Drive in Bellingham. Memorials may be made to The Christian Health Care Center of Lynden, or charity of your choice. Please share memories at www.farewelltributes.com.

Eileen:

Jarvin was a jewel. I loved his warm, wonderful, always-smiling and joking personality when in the office or at one of Mike's client appreciation events. I will always cherish the Christmas birdhouse he made me and will think of him everytime I set it out over the holidays.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
