Born in Boston in 1935, he was oldest son of Arthur C. and Sophia (Gouda) Hasiotis. Educated in the Boston Public Schools and raised in the Greek Orthodox Church, Chris' proudest early achievements included earning the rank of Eagle Scout and quarterbacking the Boston Latin School Varsity football team. A biology major and Adams house resident at Harvard College (1957), Chris was a member of the football and baseball teams and Army ROTC. Adored by his wife of 45 years, Linda (Christie) and daughters Alexis and husband Laurence Wintersteen of Brookline, Aliki and husband Ted Broderick of Winchester, Dina and husband Tim McEvoy of New Orleans. Chris was the proud and loving "Pop" to five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Second only to his family were the patients, students and colleagues he encountered during his many years in private practice. Chris served as Surgeon Emeritus at Mount Auburn Hospital, Chief of Surgery at Sancta Maria Hospital, Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Tufts Medical School and Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School. Chris was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the Boston Surgical Society, American Medical Association and Massachusetts Medical Society, as well as past president of the New England Hellenic Medical Society and past President of the Order of Ahepa Chapter 24. Hardly a day passes without remembering something learned from my Third Surgical BCH role model, Chris Hasiotis.
He was a surgeons surgeons!
We were together during my general Surgery Boston City Hospital residency where he taught me how to care for and operate on the sickest patients and trauma victims.
He also demonstrated the highest standards of honesty and morality.
He definitely made a significant difference in society. The world needs more like Christos Haseotis.

Christos was my chief resident when I was an intern on the third surgical service at Boston City Hospital. He was a wonderfull role model for me, and for all of us. Different from the usual surgeons of the era, he was kind and patient, and had a real sense of family. I remember him bringing in steaks to cook for all of us in the kitchen of Dowling 3; I think they were a gift from his father. Simply a wonderful man, about whom I have thought many times over the ensuring 53 years. Michael Scott

Dr. Hasiotis was my surgeon and doctor many years ago. I will always remember how kind, gentle and caring he was. He was so dedicated to his patients. He offered the type of care that you don't always get as a patient.... just a treasure.
My sincere condolences to you, his loving family. Your husband, father, grandfather, brother was a truly wonderful man who made a positive impact on so many.
May his memory be eternal.

Christos trained me in General Surgery at Boston City Hospital.
Wonderful teacher and kind. I chose him to be my Mom's surgeon.
We all have a new saint in Heaven to look over us.
