BARRY PRITCHARD Obituary

PRITCHARD, Barry F. Passed away January 6th, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness at the age of 71.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jennifer (Shand) of Duxbury. Devoted father of Sara (Frederick) and Taylor; brother to Susan Kerrigan of Cohasset, Sandi Esposito (Aldo) of Virginia, and Kate Neville (Bill) of Duxbury. He is predeceased by his parents, Florence (McLellan) and Frank, and brother, Steven. He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, Barry grew up in South Weymouth, and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1968. He volunteered for the Army during the Vietnam War serving from 1969-1971 as an infantryman before being honorably discharged from Fort Bragg, NC. Following in his father's footsteps, Barry worked at the Boston Globe as a pressman/foreman for over forty years, retiring in 2009. Barry's greatest joy in his life was his family. He was an avid golfer and Boston sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed family travel adventures and live music. Barry will be remembered for his eagerness to help others. He will be deeply missed by his family, and friends.

Barry's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the health care professionals at South Shore Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for their heroic and compassionate care.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small private Service will be held Thursday, January 14th, and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Please visit Shepherd Funeral Home (KINGSTON), www.shepherdfuneralhome.com to view the online obituary and guestbook. Donations in Barry's memory can be made to South Shore Hospital or Home Based Veteran and Family Care.

Take care old friend and give a hug to flo and Frank. All though we didn't get together much later on in life I'll never forget all the times we laughed and played golf . The stories we we could tell. Hit them long a d straight pal.

Dear Jen, Sara and Taylor our prayers are with you and the Pritchard family. Words are hard to find to let you know how much we care and that Barry will always be in our hearts. He had a smile, and a way to show his care and pride with all of you. Sending love from your Florida family.
