Passed away peacefully at home with her husband Walter by her side on August 1st after a long illness, at the age of 74. Theresa is survived by her loving husband Walter of 56 years. They were married September 16, 1956 in Chelsea, MA at St. Rose Church. Theresa is lovingly remembered by her children, Daniel Ruszkowski and Tracey Macallister, James Ruszkowski and his wife Danita, Donna (Ruszkowski) Gillespie and her husband William, Ronald Ruszkowski and his wife Jeanine Selvitella and former daughter-in-law Denise Ruszkowski. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Upshaw. Theresa was born in Boston, MA on August 14, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Rita and Robert Garvey. Theresa is predeceased by her brothers Michael Toolan, John Toolan and Daniel Toolan, and sister Rita (Toolan) Byrne, and grandson Dana Ruszkowski. Theresa lived in Saugus for 28 years before residing in Rowley for the past 22 years. She worked many years for Medi-Mart in Saugus and Walgreens in Newburyport. Theresa fondly known as "Nanny" by many loved sewing, knitting and crocheting. She touched the lives of all that knew her because of her loving and generous ways. Many people have enjoyed her knitted dishcloths that she found pleasure in giving out. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and summers at her home in Ossipee, New Hampshire. The visitation will be held at Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., GEORGETOWN on Sunday, August 4th between the hours of 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered from St. Mary Church, 202 Main Street Rowley, MA on Monday August 5th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery on Main Street Rowley.
