URBANA - Joyce Jensen Newlin passed peacefully surrounded by her family on July 26, 2021 at her home. She was born November 2, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband of 62 ½ years, John; daughters Kathryn Henson and Lori Plinke; and sons, John II (Clay) and Brett; and six grandchildren.
Joyce was an enthusiastic volunteer for the Mercy hospitals in Urbana and Springfield. She is especially sad to leave her fellow volunteers at Mercy Regional Medical Center for whom she wished a special recognition.
The family also expresses their sincere thanks to the special people of Hospice of Dayton for their kind, thoughtful and professional help in a difficult time.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Joyce's life will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. The funeral will be private.
Joyce was an ardent member and supporter of the Cancer Association of Champaign County (CACC). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce's memory to the Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
