I was so sad to hear of Frank's passing. He was a wonderful person, and such a special friend of my father's (George Barkell). Frank's smile was quick and infectious and I know he will be so missed. I hope there are some awesome fishing sites and perfect fishing days for you, Frank!

Dear Frank: I will certainly miss you, but as you used to say I'll aim better next time. I understand what you gave up for your profession and I understand what your family gave up as well. I'm thankful that you had some real time to enjoy them. I appreciate your faith in me in innumerable ways. I learned so much from you and am privileged to pass that on. See you soon. Mary Ann

This is indeed sad news. Our world has too few men of Frank's caliber and he will be missed by all who knew him and who were privileged to have experienced his warmth and genuineness. A true gentleman, his humor was a constant as was his care of his community. Godspeed.

Frank was such a hoot to speak with on the phone or when he'd stick his head around the corner of my office door. Such a lovely, kind, upbeat individual. I am saddened to hear he is no longer with us. Rest in peace Frank. I will miss you.

Sue and family:
It seems just yesterday we were sharing laughter with your family and Frank @ the End of Life Services/ACHHH party/fundraiser at Middlebury Inn. So glad to witness his presence and laughter with those attending that Saturday afternoon. Cherish the memories and Frank will live forever in your hearts. God bless you all with inner peace.

My Dad and Chris will be so excited to welcome him to the world beyond. They are all playing poker, smoking cigars and eating chocolate cream pie. Through the holes in the floor of heaven, he will still be watching over his family.

Frank welcomed my family and I to Bristol over ten years ago. His smiling face brightened long little league baseball and football games. The love he shared with family and friends was a great light shining in this world that can some pretty dark some days. Frank may God continue to bless you in this next volume of life. May all your family know the peace, wisdom and light of God in the days ahead....

There isn't a memory of Mr. B that does not include a smile, a joke, a hug, a laugh or some witty remark! In this cycle of life...all my love and many hugs to his most wonderful family.

I have such fond memories of Frank. He gave me my first "grown-up" job and encouraged me to go back to college. It was working for Frank that inspired me to pursue a college education and a degree in Social Work. He also taught me what it meant to be a part of community and to have a strong work ethic, understanding of humanity and the knowledge that even small changes can make a world of difference to someone.
My thoughts are with you all.

So sorry Sue and family. I always enjoyed talking with Frank (and maybe he would share a bottle of his latest creation with me). God speed Frank and fly high

To Frank's Family,
We are very saddened to see Frank's obituary. As a physician who practiced in Vergennes and Middlebury for years (before moving away) my memories of Frank are all 10 plus positive - as are those of Win, who served on the Porter board for years and often interacted with Frank. We found him to be an outstandingly vibrant and helpful pharmacist and person.
Sending deepest sympathy for your premature loss,
Ruth Kennedy and Edwin Grant
