Nancy Kimble Obituary

Nancy Jeanne Kimble, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died peacefully on Feb. 1, 2021, with her granddaughter, Denise Reinhardt at her side. She was 85.

She was born Sept. 24, 1935.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Robert Wyman Kimble.

Nancy centered her life around her family, her faith and her friends. She formed deep connections everywhere she lived; Butler, Longmeadow, Mass., and the Charleston, S.C. area. She had a genius for friendship, and had many lifelong friends, attending high school and college reunions for many decades. Her best friend was her sister, Patsy Bachman.

She loved acting in plays at Butler High School and in college. She enjoyed Kimble vacations, and was especially pleased when her team won beach bocce games.

Nancy taught elementary school in Latrobe for over a decade, where she won awards for her teaching skills. Her many enthusiasms included bridge, "The Guiding Light," Tom Brady and the novels of Mary Higgins Clark.

Nancy and Bob were proud members of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hampden, Mass.

The first in her family to attend college, she went to Slippery Rock University. On her first date with fellow student, Bob Kimble, he announced that he was going to marry her. Their romance lasted for 57 years, until his death in 2014. He was her prince.

They created a loving family. Nancy adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

Nancy was the cherished mother of Robert Wyman Kimble II (Peggy) of Glencoe, Ill., and Victoria Kimble Garvey (Richard) of Mount Pleasant, S.C.

She was the devoted grandmother of Denise April Reinhardt (Andrew) and Max Wyman Wagner Kimble; and the beloved great-grandmother of Reagan Victoria, Kelsey Drew, and Harper Jeanne Reinhardt.

KIMBLE - No services will be held at this time for Nancy Jeanne Kimble, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 2021.

Although I didn’t really know Mrs. Kimble, I wish I had. I’ve heard so many touching stories from Vicki. She was remembered fondly by her many students and was so dedicated to them. She certainly raised 2 strong, confident, self reliant, successful women. I am so sorry for her family’s loss, she will be remembered and loved.

Dear Vickie and Denise, I was saddened to hear of Mrs. Kimble's passing. She was a kind and special woman. I have many lovely memories of all of you. She surely was blessed to have two such loving ladies in her life. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Nancy was my mother’s cousin but since she lived right down the street, she grew up more as an older sister to Nancy and Patsy. Nancy was my mother’s maid of honor. Since I grew up in the same house as my mother, I also lived down the street from Aunt Lucky and Uncle “Fat”, Nancy’s parents. Lots of fond memories of Nancy and Bob. They were the perfect couple. Played with Bobby when he came to visit at his grandparents. Lost touch over the years but will always remember what a wonderful person she was. My condolences.
