Rosetta Lohan Obituary

MASHPEE — Rosetta M. (Warren) Lohan, 89, of Mashpee, formerly of Falmouth, died on Nov. 28, 2007.

She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Lohan.

Mrs. Lohan was raised in Newton Highlands and graduated from Newton North High School in 1936. She was a pianist and a soprano singer with several groups, including the choir at Sacred Heart Church in Newton Center. Her musical talents helped her receive a scholarship from the Boston Conservatory of Music.

For several years, she worked at John Hancock before working for more than 20 years as the children's librarian at the Newton Library. She summered in the Popponesset neighborhood of Mashpee and eventually retired to East Falmouth. During retirement, she taught CCD at both St. Anthony's Church in East Falmouth and Christ the King Church in Mashpee. She also helped form a Cape Cod Chapter of Reserve Officers Association.

She is survived by a daughter, Rosetta L. Krizansky of Mashpee; a granddaughter, Rosetta E. Krizansky of Neptune Beach, Fla.; a brother, John Warren and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Newton Highlands; and a nephew, John Phillip Warren of Newton.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Anthony's Church, 167 E. Falmouth Highway (Route 28), East Falmouth. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
