VIRGINIA K. MOSELEY

Virginia Kleitz Moseley, journalist, died June 9, at a hospital in Bozeman, MT. Moseley was the former wife of Spencer Dumaresq Moseley, Chairman and CEO of REA Express and a member of the Yale Corporation, the university's governing body. Moseley spent her childhood in Rye, NY, and was the daughter of Harriet Gillette and William Lambert Kleitz, the latter a former president of the Guaranty Trust Company. Moseley attended The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA, and graduated in 1940 from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY, where she was editor of the student paper. She worked at Scribner's book store in Manhattan before her marriage. After moving to Barrington Hills, IL from New Canaan, CT in 1954, Moseley launched a successful career as a freelance journalist. She published more than 100 articles in various newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune's Suburban Trib, the Daily Herald, the Christian Science Monitor, and Gourmet magazine. She also authored two children's books, "Danger Apache" and "Terror in Tombstone Territory." She is survived by three sons, Brewster of Chicago, Bill of Los Angeles, and Dan of Apex, NC; and two granddaughters, Jane Maude Moseley, 24, and Marion Gillette Moseley, 12. Services will be at a later date.
