John Lungmus Obituary

May 24, 1929 - May 20, 2016 Longtime Northfield, IL and Sarasota, FL resident, Jack Lungmus Sr., died unexpectedly on May 20th at the age of 86. Jack is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Jan Henning Lungmus, his three sons, Jack Jr., Perry and Greg, as well as eight adoring grandchildren. Born in Milwaukee, WI on May 24, 1929, Jack attended Northwestern University and graduated Northwestern School of Law in 1954, proudly practicing patent law at his Chicago firm for over 45 years. Loved for his engaging manner, sharp wit, and warm smile, Jack was passionate about life, pursuing interests in travel, automobiles, nature and wildlife. He will be forever missed by friends and family as a generous loving soul, a nurturing parent and loving husband. A private celebration of Jack's life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, Jack requested donations be made to the Ringling Bros. Center for Elephant Conservation, which is "Working for a World with More Elephants and Less Cancer".
