William GREEN Obituary

GREEN

William Talbert Green, 87, passed away August 6, 2014 at the Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Greensburg, Indiana. Bill was born on October 29, 1926, in Hamilton County, Ohio. He was the son of Col. Roy L. and Dorothy (Talbert) Green. Bill graduated High School and lived most of his adult life in Cincinnati, Ohio (Hyde Park). Bill attended Purdue University during his Army flight training in 1944 and he was honorably discharged in 1945. Bill was proud of his military service and his family will always remember his sense of humor as he would say, "We won the war when I got involved." Bill worked for the Talbert Realty Company and later retired to Greensburg where he lived with his sister, the late Lee Green-Ritter, and nephew, the late Richard Ritter. He enjoyed portrait painting and Red's Baseball. Bill will be missed by friends and family; a nephew, Harold Ritter of Greensburg, a niece Cynthia (John) Ritter-Parker of Princeton, NJ and the Parker children, Sarah, Christian and Will Parker. Bill was quick to extend the hand of friendship and he always made time for conversation. A private family service will be held with burial to follow at a later date at the Kingston Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arts and Cultural Council, Gallery Account, PO Box 668, Greensburg, Indiana 47240. Online condolences may be made to the family at
