Kenneth M.D. age 85, passed away January 18, 2017 , beloved husband of Barbara Kreines, devoted father of Dr. Michael (Leslie) Kreines, Deborah (Randall) Birckhead, Steven (Robin) Kreines and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kreines, loving grandfather of Brandon (Kimberly) Kreines, Jeremy (Jessica) Kreines, Abby Kreines, Elizabeth and Rebecca Birckhead, Jamie and Sari Kreines, Jacob, Matthew and Alex Kreines. Services Weil Funeral Home, 8350 Cornell Road, Friday, January 20 at 12:00Noon. Shiva will be observed at his residence, Sunday - Wednesday with 7:00PM Minyan services. Memorial contributions to Adath Israel Congregation, Mayerson J.C.C. or Cincinnati Art Museum would be appreciated.

Once again I have gone to the internet to look for an old friend and found I am too late. Kenny was my friend, fellow aspiring scientist, fellow Boy Scout, and classmate at P.S. 230 and Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. At about thirteen years I remember his birthday party in the house on Louisa St., and the 2d-hand chemistry book I gifted him. If that helped propel him towards his apparent successful career in medicine, it is one of the best things I have accomplished. He was a faithful friend and had a brilliant mind. Sad though I am to have lost him over the years, I am so happy he found his rightful niche, and I am proud to have been his friend.

Dr. Michael Kreines, I am so saddened to hear of your father's, and my favorite doctor's, passing. I thought of him as my "doctor dad." His firm guidance and insistence on diabetes control encouraged me to continue in college. He was there when I needed him 40 years ago! Praying you and your family find peace and have precious memories.
